Long Time No Blog.............

I'm Back!!! I know all of my readers have anxiously been waiting for an update from the Bostian's (ha) and you are about to get an overload of updates! :)

The past 4 months have definitely been eventful around our house. On April 15 our baby girl was 18 months (wow- that has flown by) and we scheduled her well baby check-up. We had been having a few concerns about her regression in speech and some weird behaviors so we wanted to talk to the doctor about them. They did an autism evaluation and, Praise the Lord, she passed it. The doctor said she was a very healthy little girl and sent us home. When we got home from the doctor we had a very normal day- played and had a great time together. But that evening about an hour after we put her in bed is when it all started. Kenley started crying and we went in to check on her; she had thrown up ALL OVER her bed, floor and herself. We cleaned her up and started cuddling her. That night she threw up about 3 more times. We assumed she had a virus but were kind of thrown off because she did not have a fever and acted like she felt just fine during the day. But the vomiting was continuing every other night after she would go to sleep. We made her an appointment with the doctor and they ran some blood work. Her blood work looked great and showed no signs of infection. Her doctor was concerned that she could be having seizures or migraines (since she was only getting sick at night). We decided to go ahead and set up an EEG at Arkansas Children's Hospital just to check and see. And the doctor said if the vomiting continued then we needed to go to the ER (she was not eating and drinking very little, had lost 3lbs in a week). Since she was obviously not contagious with anything we decided to keep our plans of heading to NWA to camp with the Roadhogs, go to the coach's dinner at Roadhog park (where we met Coach Petrino) and go to the scrimmage.

Kenley continued to throw up while we were in NWA and had gone 24 hours without a wet diaper. We were concerned that she was dehydrated and very concerned about what was making our baby girl so sick. So we decided to pack up early and head home- straight to Arkansas Children's Hospital. That was one of the longest trips from Springdale to Little Rock we have ever had. When we got to the hospital we waited about 6 hours to see a doctor. When he got there he wanted to run a CT Scan and do some blood work. He also wanted to get some fluids in her so they started an IV. (The CT and IV were much harder on mommy and daddy, but she wasn't a fan either)

When the doctor came in he had the wonderful news that there were NO brain tumors!!! Praise the Lord. He also told us, the same as her doctor, that all of her blood work was good, no sign of any infection. He felt like there was something wrong with her but there was nothing more they could do in the ER that night. So we left to come home after spending 10 hours in the ER. The next Monday we went right back to her doctor and he called ACH to move her EEG up and schedule an appointment with a GI specialists. We had the EEG- which I have to add was AWFUL, Kenley was so miserable and scared and could not understand what they were doing to her, it is so hard for a mommy to see her baby like that. I sure hope we never have to do that again. The EEG results came back clear, Praise the Lord. A couple days before we met with the GI specialists I got an email about a tylenol recall- so I of course grabbed all of our bottles and found out that they were under the recall. I put them up in our closet to file for a refund on the bottles. When I met with the GI specialists I mentioned the tylenol and he didn't think much of it. Until- a couple weeks later when Kenley STILL had not thrown up since taking her off tylenol. At this point her Pediatrician and GI Specialists started doing some research, they called me back and advised that I contact the McNeil company and file a complaint because they believed that Kenley's sickness was from the Tylenol Recall. When we started looking back at her time line of being sick it all started the day of her 18month appt, I had given her tylenol that morning expecting she would have vaccinations and help with the pain. We continued to give her tylenol before bed because the doctor thought she may be having migraines or seizures in her sleep. And she was throwing up every night that she had tylenol.

It was such a scary time but we are so thankful that the Lord took care of baby girl through all of this. We are thankful for all the prayers and support from our family and friends. And thankful for wonderful doctors that kept researching to help our baby. So I guess the moral of this very long story is- if you have ANY tylenol, motrin, benadryl, zyrtec and whatever was recalled by the McNeil company go to tylenol and check to see if your bottles were under the recall. They really are making kids sick, VERY SICK!!!

In the middle of all of this craziness, Andy's sister April graduated from Arkansas Tech so we spent a weekend with the Bostian family in Russellville. Kenley was a very good girl at the graduation. She really liked clapping for everyone.

At the end of May we went to Branson with my family to camp, go to Silver Dollar City and celebrate Emma's 2nd Birthday and my 27th Birthday.

Nana bought the girls some 4-wheelers to ride around the camp ground. Kenley loves hers!


She also got to ride the rides for the first time. Here she is on the Frogs with Paw.



K loves to play outside. Actually, "outside" is a word we hear ALL DAY from her. So when she got this water mat we knew she would love it. So much fun!

June was a really big month for us too. We had our Florida vacation planned and then found out that our very good friends were getting married the weekend before in Dallas so we kicked off our vacation with a weekend in Dallas. Their very sweet photographer caught this picture of Andy and Kenley before the ceremony. Congrats Matt and Janise! :)

When we got to Florida we were anxious to hit the pool with Kenley, she is such a fish. As soon as you put her arm floats on she will run and jump in the pool. She has mastered dog paddling, blowing bubbles and jumping in and scaring mommy to death. She is such a joy to be around.


One of our favorite parts about Destin is Crab Island. The water is so clear, and it is just the most relaxing place in the world. Here is picture of Andy and Kenley being silly in the water.

This is literally seconds after she woke up from her nap. She is the happiest kid as soon as she wakes up. She falls asleep fast and wakes up ready to run.

Kenley got to be a flower girl for the first time on vacation. My cousin got married on the beach and had Kenley and Emma as her flower girls. They were the cutest flower girls ever. The reception was on a dinner cruise. Kenley got to ride on daddy's shoulders down the pier to the boat.

As soon as we got on the boat Kim and Zac had their first dance on the top of the ship under the sunset. It was SO beautiful. They are such a sweet couple and we are so happy to have Zac in our family.

Kenley is our little dancing queen. I know I have said that many times, but it is SO true. They had a dance on the cruise and Kenley literally danced the night away. She was out on the dance floor moving the whole time. She just cracks me up.

Kim and Zac used our good friends Jon and Emily of Beaty Photography as their photographers so we took advantage of having some great photographers there and had our family pictures done. Which we are very happy with (click here and check them out). We also got to spend some time at dinner with them, so much fun!

When we got back home from Florida Kenley found a new friend in our back yard. She cracks me up with her painted nails, necklace and loving on a turtle.

For the July 4th weekend we went back to Branson for more camping and Silver Dollar City. Kenley loved getting up on the top bunk of the motor home with daddy to watch tv.

Kenley loves her cousins. Her and Emma are the best of friends and they both want to love on Maddox all the time. At one point Kenley wanted to set in the double stroller so that she could be closer to Maddox. Such a little momma.

The best part for kids about camp grounds is getting to "drive" and Kenley absolutely loves it too. Can you tell?

She also likes to drive the shopping carts at the grocery store.

On July 8, 2010 Andy and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary. I am so very blessed to have such an amazing, loving husband. And he proved again how thoughtful he was on our anniversary. I woke up to an anniversary card from him with a poem in it saying to pack my bag for 2 nights and he would pick me up at 3. He had also already arranged for my granny to keep Kenley. He had reserved a room for us at the Arlington hotel in Hot Springs for 2 nights, and a Spa Day. It was so wonderful and relaxing. It also worked out that a friend of mine was getting married in Hot Springs that weekend so we were still able to make it to her wedding. We had such a great time. And our sweet newlywed friends (the Dallas wedding in June) Matt and Janise were there too. So much fun.

Well- I think that about wraps up the past 4 months. I also want to add that Kenley is still doing great. Her speech is developing and she has not had any more spells of being sick. We are so thankful that the Lord has protected her and pulled her through all of this without any long term effects. Thank again for all the love and prayers we have received.
